Dunkin’ plans to hire up to 25,000 employees as U.S. restaurants reopened
The breakfast and coffee chain Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc. (DNKN.O) stated on Monday that its franchise operators are planning to hire up to 25,000 employees in light of high demand after the United States reopened the restaurant industry.
The Massachusetts-based company said that 90% of its restaurants were reopened and it would hire new jobs including front counter workers and restaurant managers.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), restaurants and bars added back nearly 1.4 Million jobs in May as they reopened across the nation. The restaurant industry begins to recover the jobs it lost after it has been devastated by the coronavirus pandemic.
The company announced its first national advertising campaign in Spanish and English for recruitment. “Dunkin’ Runs on You” will feature television commercials highlighting the company’s new partnerships and initiatives. Dunkin’ is also partnering with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) to offer low-cost online college education to its workers.
