In comparison with the previous year of the same time interval, the indicator decreased by 150 thousand people or 7.7%. The unemployed segments of the population make up 42 million 150 thousand people. In January 2021, this figure was lower by 14 thousand people or 0.3%. The calculation took into account the population over the age of 65 years. The Japanese economy is slowly recovering from the crisis associated with the pandemic.
