Asian shares gain on MSCI’s overnight record
Asian share markets were seen upbeat during their early Tuesday trade. The series of gains came after an overnight record touched by MSCI’s global gauge of shares, with investors’ focus now on key economic figures due later this week.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan traded 0.11% higher. The index had tracked its broadest gauge of shares across the world, which gained a total of 0.1% on Monday to hit a historic high in seven days.
Australian shares advanced 0.32%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index started with a 0.4% gain. Japan’s Nikkei jumped 0.35% as the country posted revised first-quarter data.
The bull market was evident even before the release of economic figures from different nations. China would post its inflation figures on Wednesday, while the United States is set to release its consumer price reading on Thursday.
